What is the biggest misconception about the industry?
"Insurance is a necessary evil." A lot of business owners avoid dealing with insurance. The insurance world has changed, there are creative products out there that can turn insurance from a painful annual transaction to an integral part of your culture and profitability. We help clients design an insurance program that helps them achieve growth, be more competitive and, in some cases, generate profit.

What keeps you up at night?
Balancing growth and service. As a new company we have been blessed with rapid growth. However, our number one priority is providing the best possible service to our clients. Balancing growth with our commitment to service is, and will always be, a top priority.

What project is your company most proud of?
Whether it's helping a contractor get their first bond or helping them weather the storm of a bad project or two. Watching these companies recover and become successful is a proud experience. Having the slightest involvement in any contractor’s success makes us proud.

What did you want to be when you grew up?
Car salesman like my grandfather

Tell us something no one in the industry knows about you.
My dad and his brothers were residential home builders. I spent most of my childhood summers working for my dad or one of my uncles on the job site.

What do you look forward to each day?
Coming home and spending time with my 6-month-old son, Tillman.

What are you like to work for?
We believe in hiring talented people and getting out of their way. Our company operates like a team, there is no hierarchy, we act as one unit with a shared mission, help our clients accomplish their goals.

What is your favorite metro Washington hangout/restaurant?
Argyle Country Club

Who would you trade places with for a day?
Bryson Dechambeu. I’d like to know what it feels like to hit a drive 350 yards.

What is your favorite movie or tv show?
O Brother, where art thou

What do you do for fun?
Golf

What business/career advice do you wish you had when you began?
I was blessed with great mentors who told me to show up everyday with a good attitude and work hard. I think life is that simple.
