What is the biggest
misconception about the industry?
That what we do is a
commodity and that different firms will obtain similar results. This is not
true. We frequently find opportunities for our clients missed by previous
representatives.
What is your biggest
current challenge at work?
We have been very
successful in attracting the best and brightest talent in the industry. Our
challenge is continuing to find people with the same high caliber skills who
understand our unique passion to excel beyond the norm in our industry.
What keeps you up at night?
We are driven to help our
clients reach levels of success in which they've never thought possible. We
strive to leave no stone unturned, no opportunity missed, and no creative idea
left unexplored. At night these thoughts are constantly going through my mind.
How does your ABC
membership help your company?
It helps us maintain
awareness of many of the global issues facing the construction industry. So
many of our clients are involved with ABC and it provides a wonderful way to
interact with them.
What do you look forward to
each day?
Working with my amazing
staff and partners to help them and our clients reach levels of success they'd
never dreamed possible.
What is your favorite metro
Washington hangout/restaurant?
Black's.
What do you do for fun?
Run, swim, bike, play
tennis, cross-fit, P90X, golf, travel and spend time with family and friends.
What business/career advice
do you wish you had when you began?
I wish I'd had a mentor to
share my career goals and accomplishments with who could help me make better
decisions for the long-term. When we are young we get caught up in the moment
of our success and make decisions that impact the rest of our lives. Insight
from someone wiser at this time would have been very helpful.
What was your first job?
I was a trash man at an
apartment complex. In my second job I was a janitor at a bowling alley. I'll
tell you now, I was a darn good trash man and janitor!
