What is the biggest misconception about the industry?
Many people assume that only very specialized
workers can operate swing stages. While specific
training is required to safely use and install the
equipment, with proper instruction and adherence to
safety regulations, a wide range of construction and
maintenance workers can be certified to operate
swing stages. Reach Services provides a free swing
stage operator training upon completion of any
installation.
What is your biggest current challenge at
work?
Our primary challenge is building visibility and
setting ourselves apart in the market. As a
newcomer, gaining recognition among competitors
and potential clients can be difficult. Accessing key
decision-makers, such as project managers,
property owners, and facility maintenance heads, is
also a hurdle. We are actively working to showcase
our competitive advantages in safety, costefficiency,
and service quality.
What keeps you up at night?
Effectively communicating our company's strengths,
values, and commitment to safety to the right
audience keeps me up at night.
What project is your company most proud
of?
The 1951/Eccles Renovation project stands out as a
true highlight for our team. These iconic buildings in
the heart of our nation's capital required a
meticulous exterior renovation to preserve the
integrity of its unique façades. One of the key
challenges was our client's request to access the
swing stages from the roof, as other construction
activities were ongoing at the base of the structure.
To meet this demand, we designed and deployed a
custom swing stage system, utilizing system
scaffolding to construct a rigging system above roof
level. Our team collaborated closely with structural
engineers to ensure the swing stages were securely
anchored and could safely roll out from the roof to
the façade. This innovative solution allowed us to
meet the project's requirements while maintaining
safety and efficiency throughout.
