What is your biggest current challenge at work?
The number one biggest challenge our industry faces is to find, cultivate, train and retain quality employees who plan to be in this field long term.
What project is your company most proud of?
From a patriotic standpoint, we are very proud to have worked on the Pentagon both before and immediately after 9/11. From the standpoint of feeling a bit awed by what we helped to create, our involvement in the Reston Town Center stands out because it's functionality as a community where it's residents can find everything they need or want within walking distance of their home an exciting development in new construction.
How does your ABC Membership help your company?
It is a valuable asset that keeps us linked to other participants in our industry. The opportunities to network are very useful, because the commuting times that most people have make it difficult to arrange and attend small gatherings.
What did you want to be when you grew up?
A professional musician.
What do you look forward to each day?
I look forward to waking up and spending my day dealing with people that I like and respect, and then going home to the woman I have been in love with for all of my adult life.
What is your favorite metro Washington hangout/restaurant?
The Kennedy Center for a show and dinner and drinks before or after at the Rooftop Terrace
Who would you trade places with for a day?
I love what Daryl Hall is doing with his TV show, 'Live From Daryl's House', filmed in his studio on his farm in Upstate New York. That's pretty much my dream gig.
What do you do for fun?
Play one of my 30 guitars.
